Thee Grate Church ov MOO, Reformed

I am hereby going completely against the edicts of the office of the Cardinal Richelieus of MOO, and am calling a MOOfest for the night of Tuesday December 20th, 2005.
This MOOfest is to be held at 1666 Ridge Road, Vankleek Hill, Ontario.
Ashtray? What Ashtray?

If the Office of the Cardinal Richelieus are going to abandon their duties so blatantly, I may just have to overlook a certain Bishop-wannabe...

BTW, did you know there's an entry in the GoogleMap for that address?

Official event time is 3:14 am Wednesday morning. The event as a whole starts slightly before sunset and runs until morning of the longest night of the year - have to keep the fire burning so the sun will rise in the morning.

Curses. I work. I'll send a spiritual envoy in the form ... of ... uhh... let's see, most of the others have already been eaten or are lost in the ether... oh yes... a stale cracker.
The majestic cracker will soar through the frosty night sky, powered by sheer will alone. Clouds will part, and even political parties will divide as the proto-hors d'ouevre makes it way to the MOOfest. If one were to somehow fly along with it, a discernible hum of "MOOOOOooooo" could be heard from one side and "oooooOOOOOOM" from the other side. Once it arrives, it will hover disturbingly in the air a few feet off the ground.

"Nice envoy, cracker-boy!"
(And yes, Ross Perot will be there. I have his head in a support tank, and I aim to use it for nefarious purposes.)

I just a hold of the bishop of East Anglia. It was my prize after a skillful series of exchanges of trivial information.
However, I must that I'm disappointed. He doesn't move diagonally at all.
(btw, you still go to the Alexander Games Club at all? I miss playing Titan.)

They only move diagonally when you put one of their feet in the Iron Boot. Actually, the whole chess thing is a very painful joke at their expense.
I haven't been there in years - among other reasons, because I now live in California.

How are you liking Cali?

I never really got hooked on Titan, although some of the other grognards in the U of O gaming club at the time certainly did.
And as for the Alexander Games Club, I never managed to drag my sorry ass out there. Nowadays, we game mostly at the pharm.

It had a certain appeal. Mainly that of a game that is sufficiently complex to require a certain amount of thought at times when it is not your turn. A lot of other games suffer because they overlook this very crucial idea.
A friend of mine is currently working on a game that you can play with booze and a DVD player. We've made a few early versions with a board and pieces, but in terms of production funds, a DVD game would be much cheaper. I should add that he's trying for a set-top DVD player, not a DVD drive in a computer. With the vast wealth of technological disclosure at my fingertips, I've found out that there's a lot of wiggle room in the DVD spec's: 16 full registers, but no memory. A full set of functions, but no room to create your own. He's also keeping the whole "people must be able to do stuff while it's not their turn" idea in mind.
Sadly, these days, it's an immensely complicated card game at work that is the extent of my gaming. Two decks, and about 6 exrta cards, some cards changed, and about 60 rules (last count, but rules have been changed in the meantime).

May as well copy here what I sent to Abacab and I Yemen Oying...
There will be a MOO Fest at the pharm of Hellhound and Dextra.
The weekend of Friday, June 23 to Sunday, June 25.
The warm up party is the Friday night, the big party is the Saturday night.
If you intend on staying for the whole weekend, bring tents, and food for the barbecue. If you intend on just arriving for a few hours of the party, that works too. But you don't get to drink too much if you're driving home. Regardless of how long you intend to stay, it might be a good idea to bring some sort of lawn chair. And perhaps scrap wood for the fire.
The pharm is at 1666 Ridge Road, VanKleek Hill.
Queensway east, half-way to Montreal. Take Highway 34 north (at about exit #29), about two kilometres. Turn left onto Ridge Road. The sign at the end of the driveway says #1646, but there are two houses.
Additionally, ignore Hound's attempts to cancel.
